Using my X52 Flight Stick/Throttle with the lastest driver installed I attempted to play the demo. All mapped buttons (fire, targeting, strafing with the hat switch) all work perfectly. My problem is that even though they show as mapped in the Controls screen, my Throttle will NOT control my Cruise Speed nor will my joystick move my fighter. Thanks, loving the game btw =)

We'll try to get a similar joystick to try it, however, all controls will be mappable in the full version. There is also a special input mode designed for joysticks (activated by F3) (this will not solve the problem with the throttle).

Wait, I'm confused, are we gonna be able to control throttle with joysticks?

I actually did ALOT of testing to find the differences between a mouse and joystick while fighting. I was able to do much better using the mouse to fire at targets because I can move the gun-site. Learning where all the buttons to change orientation and throttle was a pain but once I had it all figured out I got to wave 86 on instant action.

We think about the joystick mode ... more like a "x" mode ...

The default gameplay (with keyboard and mouse) is (intended) somehow easier ... but if you really want to feel like a spacefighter pilot ... you take a good joystick ... no more autoaiming :), use the HAT for strafes ... and feel the vibe of any single shoot from your guns :)
